Unpopular Opinion: Admit it, Valentina Shevchenko Is The Current Goat!

The views and opinions expressed below are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of www.mmaloki.com, it’s affiliates and sponsors or its parent company, MMA Loki Inc.

You definitely don’t want to hear this, but Valentina Shevchenko is UFC’s current GOAT. It’s just the facts.

7 title defenses, 26 professional MMA bouts and 3 losses, 2 of them being the to the same person, who she is still calling for until now, Amanda Nunes.

And the other was all the way back in 2010 against Liz Carmouche which came by “doctah stoppage”. Who she went on to defeat by decision 9 years later.

Up until her last fight against Talia Santos, she was hailed as the GOAT of womens MMA, neck-and-neck with Nunes, but it seems most people don’t think she won her last fight, except The Three Stooges ringside. But we aren’t here to debate that, just the facts.

We could also add that many people thought that Shevchenko beat Nunes on their second time out. The MMA Weasel laying this out round-by-round. But The Three Stooges make the calls.

Shevchenko has convincingly beat all her opponents, not choosing a single one, or cherry picking the division.

She is on a 9 fight (10 to some) streak that includes a diverse amount of finishes by KO/TKO from her hands, feet, and some submissions, displaying her all around MMA skill.

Some will try to count her out for winning her belt in a vacant title in 2010. But she had to fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk who is a former champion, retired now, but a tough fight for any of the women on any night out.

Every fight she had to take was pressure for her, not only the opponent. Every new contender for her was supposedly the next best thing, but she just ran through em’.

No current champion has defended their title more than her and Amanda Nunes. Both tied at 7.

This is why Shevchenko vs. Nunes is the next fight to make in the UFC right now. With all the controversy surrounding their fights and who won? Both being dominant champs with the longest title runs. And both having a a complete MMA catalog at their disposal, and a wide array of finishing options.

And to be honest, I feel she is never included in the GOAT conversation. We always say Jon Jones. He has been out for 3 years, he retired, and vacated his title. Yes, he had 13 defenses, great! But he let the title go, he is no longer champ.

The womens flyweight division is booming, there are so many fighters: Manon Fiorot, Talia rematch, Erin Blanchfield, Alexa Grasso and more.  And we understand with many talented fighters like this, and in life in general, you can’t stay on the top forever.

But as of now, and for sometime actually, Valentina Shevchenko has been the GOAT in MMA. Right under our eyes

Plus she has all the qualities that embody a champ. Carries herself with dignity, class and respect. On top of that she is very beautiful.

Also Intelligent, speaks many languages, flys planes, and shoots guns.

She definitely is the GOAT.
