Sean O’Malley feels insulted over comments by Cormier and Weidman on Weigh-In show

After the tension between Sean O’Malley and Daniel Cormier had been mended, it starts to heat up again as “SugaSean O’Malley gains a new “hater” and retaliates in regards to something Chris Weidman and Daniel Cormier said about his striking and last fight with Petr Yan.

This occured on the UFC 281 Weigh-In show where the two (DC & Weidman) were seen laughing about Laura Sanko putting O’Malley as one of the top 5 active strikers in the UFC.

Laura Sanko, who hosts the show along with Cormier and an array of different guests put Suga Sean as “number 4” on her list.

Weidman appeared to have some sort of reaction thinking it was funny how she could have him on the list, asking her, “you’re staying with that then?”. Meaning her list, and in regards to her saying she would put Dustin Poirier as “number 6”.

Both Cormier and Weidman burst out laughing and Cormier says, “Laura it’s like having 2 of me here”.

Weidman also added how O’Malley is not a champion, he lost his last fight against Yan, and has lost previous fights. But did give him a compliment saying, “he got very technically good“.

O’Malley reacted to this on his podcast recapping UFC 281 Adesanya vs. Pereira with his coach Tim Welch replying to the two, “It’s so weird these wrestlers bro they just don’t like me”. Following up saying, “I get it, I’m 6’6, 220lbs, I’m f**king sexy, I drive a pink Lambo… I don’t know what it is“.

Going back to the past a little bit.

At UFC 264, Daniel Cormier, who was  commentating on O’Malleys fight against Kris Moutinho regarded how O’Malley was looking up at the clock because he was tired.

O’Malley expressed post UFC 268 after beating Raulian Paiva about the UFC 264 comments by Cormier and how he looks at the clock in certain situations to know if he “should empty his tank after landing a big shot to take the guy out or save his energy“, as he put it. Further stating how Cormier is a “double champ” and questioning his “fight IQ“. Possibly insinuating he should know this.

After the onslaught, O’Malley did admit that Cormier did have a hard job and that he couldn’t fill those shoes.

The two eventually reached an understanding on DC & RC show on ESPN. That was where O’Malley said it was a mix of things regarding the clock situation, but he says that it was how him and Joe Rogan while commentating keep saying to “just kick his legs” after the Chito Vera fight where O’Malley suffered “drop foot“. But did eventually get TKO’d.

And at the end the two made ammends during the interview.

But now there seems to be some tension again. Hopefully the two can work things out.
