Floyd Mayweather thinks MMA fighters are easier to beat than boxers?

Floyd Mayweather added another one to the win column after his defeat of Mikuru Asakura in a second round TKO.

The undefeated fighter, Floyd, with a decorated professional record of 50-0, 27 knockouts, always leaving the ring pretty as he went in, has also taken on some new challenges post his professional career.

Floyd has started to take exhibition bouts as we see many older, or retired fighters starting to do, even some active fighters are looking for them because of the paydays. But being that they are exhibition, these do not count towards the professional records of fighters but still, giving Mayweather an exhibition record of 4-0 (technically) with 2 wins by knockout and 2 non-scored.

Adding newly beaten opponent Mikuru Asakura to his exhibition record, Floyd, following the event whilst at the post-fight press conference had some things to say about what types of fights he is willing to take when asked about a potential rematch with Manny Pacquiao, whom he has zero interest in fighting again.

I retired from the sport, I didn’t let the sport retire me. I am putting myself in a position now to where I, just like I was doing when I was fighting at the highest level, I was dictating and being in control.”, said Mayweather.

Further going on to state, “I am not going in there with no former fighters, world champions.”

Which is perplexing, because does Floyd not consider all his former MMA opponents who stepped in the ring with him like, Mikuru Asakura, who was a 143lbs and 154lbs champion in RINGS (Japanese fight promotion), Tenshin Nasukawa, RISE’s (promotion) Bantamweight and featherweight champion, and Conor McGregor (professional bout) who was the featherweight and lightweight champion in the UFC a fighter or a champ?

Mayweather then mentioned, “I love fighting guys that are older like myself, or Youtubers, or MMA guys.

Could it be possible that Mayweather does not take his MMA opponents as real competition putting them in the same category as “Youtubers” and not “former fighters“?

Does he really need to?

Floyd has beat all of his MMA opponents. He has actually stopped every MMA fighter he has fought against very quicky, other than McGregor, who was clearly fatigued before being stopped in the 10th round.

Regardless of his comments, Floyd has made “easy work” of every MMA fighter he has gone against in the ring so far.
