Edmen Shahbazyan spoke with MMA Junkies Nolan King ahead of his match with Dalcha Lungiambula in the middleweight division on the prelims of UFC 282.
After 3 losses in a row, 2 by TKO, Shahbazyan decided to take a little over a year off to regroup, he chose in that time to switch management and gyms.
He details it as “amazing” after saying,
“I switched my management, switched my camp and my residency.”
The middleweight is now training and living in Las Vegas and training at the UFC PI, and Xtreme Couture with famous boxing coach Dewey Cooper, and Jason Manly..
In Vegas, Shahbazyan says he can work on his flaws, improve and get better in comparison to Glendale where he was training under Tarverdyan, coach of Ronda Rousey.
The coach who Ronda Rousey’s mother did not have such nice things to say about.
This change came after speaking with his new manager Ali Abdelaziz, famous manager of fighters such as, Justin Gaethje, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, who he “connected” with in Vegas.
Shahbazyan explains how his losses to his last opponents and his new coaches and training partners, have taught him a lot moving forward.
Dalcha, who is as well on a 3 fight losing skid is potentially fighting for his contract like Shahbazyan in this bout
