Demetrious Johnson: Knee-for-a-Knee, avenges his only knockout loss.

One of the best UFC flyweight champions with the most finishes in UFC flyweight history. The ONE flyweight World Grand Prix Champion. And Now the new ONE flyweight world champion, defeated Adriano Moraes, the now former champ. Moraes, who actually knocked Johnson out via knees to a grounded opponent (legal in ONE FC) last year in April. That being Johnson’s only knockout loss.

Johnson vs. Moraes was the main event tonight of the One on Prime Video One card. Johnson defeated Moraes in the fourth round by knockout via flying knee. It was a straight punch that dropped Moraes follwed by a flying knee that put him out cold crowning Johnson as the new flyweight champion.

Johnson was down two rounds with both having their moments. Moraes with the grappling and control time and Johnson with the striking. Moraes landing good shots as well. Johnson visibly started picking up the pace in the third round pressuring Moraes.

Johnson found himself in the same position in this bout that Moraes finished him the last time. Luckily Johnson scrambled to his feet to get out of that situation.

Johnson said in his post fight interview, “after I lost I needed to get this one back“. Expressing how he didn’t like the loss and how he put himself “in harm“.

Johnson also stated that he is, “still getting better at 36“. Which is obvious

Johnson won a $50,000 bonus awarded to him from CEO Chatri Sityodtong of ONE.

It is possible Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson is the goat of flyweights period.
