Two ladies bring home bronze medals for Canada at the Senior World Championships.

The 2022 Senior World Wrestling Championships were held this year in Belgrade, Serbia. That is where these young warriors from all over the globe face-off on the mats, fighting until they are exhausted, showing their true and highest level of talent.

The championships were held just one day extra of a week, going from September 10th to September 18th.

During the championships it was two ladies who brough home bronze medals for Canada. Montreal, Quebec’s Linda Morais, and Coquitlam, British Columbia’s Karla Godinez Gonzalez.

Morais (29), who seems to attract metal, has won previously a bronze medal in 60 kg (132lbs) freestyle in 2016, a gold medal in 59 kg (130lbs) freestyle in 2019, and now a brand new shiny bronze medal in 68 kg (150lbs) this year competing in a much heavier weight-class, 18lbs more than she has competed before. All won at the World Wrestling Championships.

Morais‘ partner in action Karla (24), who also is no stranger to being in the winning column picked up a gold medal in 58 kg (127lbs) freestyle at the Pan-American Wrestling Championships which were held May 5th to May 8th of this year. She also won a silver medal at the Grand Prix in Spain and acquired a bronze medal this year in 55 kg (121lbs) freestyle at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships.
