Dana White was interviewed after the DWCS and talked about the expansion of the PI’s (Performance Institutes) and the business of the UFC.
Dana White spoke about the UFC going to Africa for their first fight very soon saying, “we are going to be rolling into Africa really soon“. Not stating where on the continent they are going or when. He also stated that they are building PI’s (performance institutes) in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Africa to further expand business globally.
Lately there has been a rise in African fighters on the roster. Most notably Dricus Du Plessis, David Onama, Manel Kape, Kennedy Nzechukwu. We also have the 2 champs Francis Ngannou and Israel Adesanya and the former champ Kamaru Usman.
There have been talks about UFC in Africa over the last couple years more than ever and the UFC is getting it done just in time for the blast of talent that is coming from the continent. The 2 African and former champ Usman have stated many times how it would be a dream to fight on the continent, or in their home countries.
