Tyson Fury defeats Derek Chisora after referee stoppage to remain the heavyweight champion.
In tonights fight Fury gave us a show and unforgettable farewell for Chisora’s career. Impressive fighting from both of them as we got to see a very intresting fight in the shivering cold in London.
In the first round Derek Chisora came out swinging in the first as expected, but Tyson Fury had already taken control of the match. The WBC world heavyweight champion used his longer range to keep Chisora at a distance while also landing right-handed punches of his own. 10-9 Fury.
In the second round somehow Derek Chisora managed to take Tyson Fury’s punches. Fury had him backed up against the ropes and was throwing a lot of uppercuts, but Chisora was still standing. 10-9 Fury.
In the third round Fury continued to find success by subjecting Derek Chisora to numerous uppercuts and power punches. One particular right uppercut saw Chisora’s legs buckle, and everyone thought that it would be only a matter of time until this fight would be brought to an end early. 10-9 Fury.
The fourth round more subdued round than the prior three. As directed by coach Don Charles, Derek Chisora tried to use his jab to push Tyson Fury back. This had lessened Fury’s activity, but he still set the pace of the fight. 10-9 Fury.
As the fifth round wears on, it became increasingly hard to watch. Derek Chisora was unsteady on his feet from the punishment he took from Tyson Fury, and at the end of the round he staggered into a neutral corner. 10-9 Fury.
In the sixth round Tyson Fury continued to land numerous right hands, but Derek Chisora continued to take them like a champ. Chisora needed to do something special if he wanted to go to distance. 10-9 Fury.
In round seven Tyson Fury was hitting Chisora hard with some devastating punches, and Chisora was looking less responsive to his team as the fight went on. The referee and Chisora’s corner needed to be extra vigilant in watching the heavyweight veteran. 10-9 Fury.
By the eigth round, Derek Chisora was visibly battered and bruised. His right eye was swollen shut, and he had cuts on his lip. Even with all the damage, he kept fighting. 10-9 Fury.
Again in the ninth round Tyson Fury went on a three-minute barrage against Derek Chisora, until Chisora slumped down onto his stool. The referee spoke to Chisora’s corner about the possibility of pulling him out of the fight, but Don Charles insisted that his Chisora was still okay to continue.
And so the fight did continue, but Fury took control once more. 10-9
Fury After a victorious fight in round ten, Tyson Fury has been crowned the winner by referee Victor Loughlin. Derek Chisora showed his age at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,as he was no match for Fury who dominated the fight from start to finish. With this brutal and sad end.
