Nikolas Motta Recovers With First Round Knockout After Losing Debut
The new 13-4, Brailian born, lightweight, Nikolas “Iron” Motta showed out for his second showing in the otagon.
Motta, who lost in his debut against UFC veteran Jim Miller by TKO via strikes, proved why he belongs in the UFC today by getting a finish in the first round.
Nikolas Motta faced off against Cameron VanCamp to kick off the prelims for the first fight of the night in the lightweight division. The round started off with the two exchanging on the feet, but VanCamp not being able to get his range on Motta. And Motta was just missing with his left hook.
It wasn’t long before Motta landed that left hook by throwing a straight and following it up with a left hook dropping VanCamp and then finishing him with ground strikes.
In his post fight interview he talked about coming up and training with legends like Eddie Alvarez, Frankie Edgar and how he has been broke on his 10 year journey to the UFC Octagon and would benefit from the win bonus. His win was a great way to put the lightweight division on notice.
