Claressa Shields has become the new WBC Womens undisputed middleweight champion after defeating Savannah Marshall.
It started with years stemming of a rivalry between the two. But in the bout it was Shields who dominated the whole fight starting from round one.
Shields won the first round with successfully coordinated strikes on Marshall ending the round 10-9 for Shields.
In the second round we saw improvement from Marshall but Shields fought back even stronger concluding the second round again, 10-9 for Shields.
The third round looks like it was going to turn around as we saw Marshall improvising even more than in the second round but Shields is all cool staying calm as ever, and again 10-9 for Shields.
In the fourth round is when we start to really see the effects Shields has on Marshall as its really obvious that Marshall is tired and needs to work in her combinations as the rounds still ends 10-9 for Shields.
Fifth round took off with both Shields and Marshall giving devastating blows to each other but this round Marshall had the edge ending the round 10-9 for Marshall.
Into the sixth round we start too see the fatigue from Shields which is unexpeceted from a machine like her, this did get the better of her as Marshall took this round ending 10-9 in Marshalls favor.
This is where Shields starts to slow down , The 7th round, as in this round we didnt see any interesing throws from Shields therefore ending 10-9 for Marshall.
But this is where things get interesing as Shields gains back control and dominates the round withount tiring herself as much, making the round end in her favor of 10-9 for Shields.
The Ninth round is where Marshall tries to one up Shields by steping up the pressure and ultimatly succeeds winning it 10-9 for Marshall
AND in the final round Shields undoubtedly takes back control and wins the fight to become the Womens Middleweight Champion of the world and the ONLY fighter to become an undisputed champion on 3 different occasions.
