Despite Anissa Meksen being a nice and kind woman not taking 20% of her opponent, Dangkongfah Banchamek’s purse for missing weight, she is a mean woman when she enters the circled cage. The two faced off in a catchweight muay thai bout.
The 34 year old French fighter, who is also a 7x muay thai and kickboxing world champion, holding a record of 102-5-0, Meksen, put on an absolute clinic against her opponent.
Banchamek, who is younger at 21, but also experienced in her own right is a WEC muay thai world champ, holds a muay thai and kickboxing record of 125-17-8. Although, with this experience, and this being her first fight in 4oz gloves in muay thai, she was no match for Meksen.
Meksen starts with the pressure and lands a nice head-kick on Banchamek, but Banchamek who is known to have a tough chin eats it while trying to keep her opponent off her with push-kicks. Meksen uses that swift left-hook and footwork to pick her apart, peppered with straight punches.
Banchamek not being able to evade shots while closing the distance ultimately had blood visibly coming from under her right eye from the left hooks and blood from her nose from the straight punches.
Coming off the stool Banchamek looked defeated but did not stop trying to land her shots but Meksen was catching her with combos to the head ending with leg kicks. Meksen was wearing no damage by the end of round 3 displaying to the judges a complete shut out.
Anissa Meksen won by unanimous decision, bringing her record to a new 103-5-0.
Post fight she was asked about her upcoming bout in MMA with Stamp Fairtex, who is fighting later on the same card didn’t have much to say about it stating, “she is a dancer, I’m a real fighter.”
She also staked her claim for the title shot saying, “please 2 years I expect the title for the kickboxing belt, it’s my time, it’s my turn, please Chatri, make this happen“.
