Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling seems to be bothered by some comments made by rising Ecuadorian star Marlon Chito Vera.
Vera, when speaking with his former training partner, and former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, and lightweight title challenger Anthony Smith eluded to Sterling as a “p*ssy” for cutting as much weight as he does.
He was asked what he thought of Sterling moving up to featherweight and said,
Sterling who posted a video of his walking around weight, which is around welterweight (170)
Chito added,
“He really doesnt hur nobody, he makes you carry his weight, and takes you down.”
And,
“That’s why he has been ko’d unconscious because of the weight he cuts, if you touch him, he might go down.”

Chito says he is only 155 out of camp and cuts around 20lbs.

Aljamain started by addressing the KO of him (knee to the head) by Marlon Moraes by saying most guys in the bantamweight divison would have gone to sleep and naming several of his fights where he has taken big shots

Feeling he needed to prove himself he named several fights, after the KO, where he took big shots naming the 1st Yan fight, Pedro Munhoz and Cody Stamann.
Sterling then details how they met eachother and some weird twitter beef between the two.
Aljo says that they met at the Red Rock Casino in 2016-2017 and that they had a good time despite his friend trying to start a fight between the two. But the two laughed it off and discussed a potential fight in the future.
“He is a cool dude and always respectful when I saw him”
Was how he described their first interaction.
But after he was asked on social media of what he thought of the Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera Fight.
And while the fight between O’Malley and Vera was controversial (only in O’Malley’s head) O’Malley proclaims he never lost because of the injury (drop foot) that prevented him from fighting, which was done by a calf-kick from Vera.
He was taken down and mounted and stopped by TKO via elbows.
Sterling agreed that it was Vera who caused the damage and should get full credit saying,
“Chito threw the kick, so you can’t take anything away from Chito, it’s not Chito’s fault that O’Malleys leg did that”
Vera who didn’t like his response to the champs take on his fight, supposedly calling him a “fake champ” and an “actor”, says Sterling.
Sterling claims that he is playing two characters calling being nice in person and tough online and in interviews asking Chito,
Is Chito the tough badass gangster that almost tries to dress like he is a west coast gangster verus the nice guy who is super polite?”
Now saying that when they see eachother he stares him in the eyes and tries to intimidate him but still remains cordial shaking his hand.
The thing that seemed to bother the champ the most was the seeing Chito in person and being cool, then the online smack talk, confused by it all
“It’s weird, I don’t know what persona or personality you are trying to portray, I don’t get it. Which side of the fence do you want to be on? What person do you want to be when you interact in person“.
Is this even a fight anybody wants to see?
