Most fans who watch UFC every saturday probably have some of Jon Aniks lines stuck in their heads. Which is the exact ploy of good marketing brought through the great Play-By-Play commentator Jon Anik, who has several quotes we probably have memorized. Such as: “P3 the official protein snack of the UFC“.
The UFC is thee biggest Mixed Martial Arts promotion with a wide array of business partners looking to reach different markets. That is why we hear Anik quoting big companies like, “Toyo Tires the official tire of the UFC“, or “Modelo, the official beer of the UFC“. All these companies competing for ad airtime and sponsorship placement at events can rise their brands by being seen alongside the leading MMA promotion.
But when the UFC is in Australia the fans are going to hear a new line from Mr.Anik possibly saying, “Drink West, the official beer of UFC Australia”!
That is because UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa, his partner and Co-Founder, UFC light-heavyweight Tyson Pedro, have landed a deal with UFC Australia in May of this year. The two Aussies beer, Drink West (founded 2019), is the official beer of UFC Australia. That is, when UFC events are in Australia their beer will be the sponsored and marketed alcoholic beverage.
Tuivasa already has his “Shoeyvasa” that he has come out with. It is a term he coined in 2018 which is a play-on words of his name. He normally, post-fight, uses a random fans shoe, pours a beer in it (spits saliva in it sometimes and asks others too) and chugs it back. This may be weird to us outsiders, but this is a “Shoey” in Australia.
He has garnered many people in and out of the combat sports world who are interested in seeing him do a shoey, or people who are repulsed by it. But either way the people want to see Tai Tuivasa do a shoey post-fight. Even if the UFC staff dont like it. The fans do.

Tui Vasa spoke on the MMA Hour today and said that they are planning on building a brewery in Sydney for their company. He didn’t have a sure date, but he said in October it should be ready.
