Could Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury happen again? For the third time?
We hope so, and so does Tommy as we saw from his most recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.
Tommy spoke with Ariel about many things, including his upcoming fight on November 13th, his situation on when he will be able to return the United States, and what he thought about Jake Pauls performance.
He did say that he doesn’t know too much when he can return to the US stating, “I don’t know how my name got tied up in this” and how he has his lawyers and legal team working on it, and can’t say much more.
He is referring to his supposed “links” to an Irish mafia family known as the Kinahan’s. The Fury name got tied up with and cannot enter the US because of a sanction against the crime family and their associates.
When it came to Jake Pauls most recent fight against Anderson Silva, he said, “I don’t want to come across as a hater, but please look at what a 48 year old man has done with him“. “Like I’m not being funny but, but at the end of that fight he looked like he been in a fight with the WBC light heavyweight champion”.
Anderson Silva is actually 47 by the way.
Fury wasn’t done, he also touched on the age of Anderson saying, “Anderson isn’t too far off from my dads age“. And, “the man is nearly 50 years of age, he is not trained as a boxer, he is a professional icon, the best to ever do it, in the cage, in he ufc, under a different set of rules“.
Which is 100% true, the two sports are completely different.
Tommy also thinks that when Jake Paul steps in with a real boxer then he is going to lose stating, “I don’t see him beating an average boxer“.
Ariel went on to ask if Tommy thought he had seen any improvements in Jakes performances since his last fights. Fury was very doubtful of his progression saying, “I can’t really say the improvements are really drastic because I know as a boxer and being around it all my life, coming from it, the only way you can get better at being a boxer is by getting in there and having fights. What has he only had about 6 fights?”
Tommy Fury only believes you can get better by fighting under the lights and in front of the crowd.
All-in-all Tommy did mention he thought Jake was gonna be the victor of that fight because of the age of Silva.
And also mentioned that he thought “it was a good fight”, he stated.
When asked if he wins his fight on November 13th would he like to fight Jake Paul in the UK he said, “I’m very open to it. I’m not gonna wait around for Jake Paul“. But am I welcoming a fight in the UK? 100%.”
